Anyway, I agree that forces in EU are working towards EU becoming an equivalent of the US, but I don’t think that the EU is trying to become a world government.
Look at the trouble Turkey has trying to join the EU. Look at the economic growth of China. In fifty years from now they will be the new leaders of the world. What do they gain from joining the EU? (Hmm. Well if China could join EU they would have the majority of the votes and all the European agricultural aid would end up in China.)
